Community First: Kompong Khleang Floating Village Tours occasionally does not have availability on our group tour. This is usually due to government holidays, personal commitments or a large group booking on a particular day.
That being said, while our organization might be unable to conduct a tour, there are other socially responsible tour companies. They provide meaningful floating village tours and make a difference in Cambodia through humanitarian and environmental causes. These are great options for tourists who are not able to participate with us, allowing you to experience the floating village safely and responsibly while making an impact on the communities visited.
Below we have listed three providers who conduct well-regarded tours. The tour companies have been vouched for by online ratings, blogs, and guests who have participated with them. If you have joined a tour with them (or another company) feel free to email us so we can improve our recommendations.
Our sister company, this provider donates 20% of its profits to NGO’s working on the Tonle Sap (including Bridge of Life School which Community First also supports). They are the most affordable community-based tour provider in Siem Reap with all-inclusive group tour fees starting at only $28.00 USD. Some of their tours visit Kompong Phluk and some of their trips visit Kompong Khleang. So, if you prefer to visit Kompong Khleang, let them know in advance to ensure you are on the right tour. We like the fact that this tour company is owned by Khmer people so you can support local residents and also make a contribution to humanitarian and educational efforts. We also like that they have designed tours with multiple themes for multiple budgets.

Osmose is the oldest floating village tour provider in Siem Reap province. They were founded in 1999 with the goal of protecting large waterbirds in Battambang province by compensating local residents to protect them. Since then they have expanded their community programming to educational workshops, healthcare and artisan cooperatives as a result of the tours. Osmose works in the Prek Toal Wildlife Sanctuary and offers both day and overnight excursions. Due to the distance, their trips are slightly more expensive, starting at around $60.00 (per person) when at least 5 participants join.
