Siem Reap Aquarium & Floating Village Tour
Siem Reap is now home to the Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium which showscase the unique biodiversity of the Tonle Sap lake (and greater Cambodia). Embark on a captivating journey through the aquatic wonders of Cambodia on this private tour. Then immerse yourself in the life of residents in Kompong Khleang Floating Village.
We will depart from Siem Reap in the morning and make our way to Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium. You will then receive a guided tour of the Tonle Sap aquarium component of the center from one of our guides from the floating village. They have unique insight into the fish – having caught and subsisted on them all of their life. You’ll also be able to see endangered lake fish, including the Giant Mekong Barb and stingrays, that can not be seen elsewhere. If interested, you can then proceed to the outdoor wildlife portion of the center to see tigers and other regional wildlife.
After finishing the aquarium, we will make our way to Kompong Khleang with stops for fresh sticky rice and donuts on the way. We can also visit a local market where you can see some of the communely consumed fish from the Tonle Sap. We will then make our way to the village where we work. You will visit a home, learn about Bridge of Life’s school, and take a brief walking tour of the community depending on the season.
After our time in Outaput village we will continue on the boat nad out to the Tonle Sap to see two other floating villages. We will then begin to make our return home.
The cost of this tour is $250 USD for up to 4 participants. It is all inclusive except for tickets to Angkor Wildlife & Aquarium which you can purchase at the center. There is a supplement of $25 USD per person after 4 participants. The duration of this tour is approximately 7-8 hours depending on the amount of time you spend at Angkor Wildlife.

An Hour-By-Hour Breakdown Of Private Kompong Khleang Fishing Tour
8:00 AM – Pick Up from Siem Reap
We will pick you up at your hotel or preferred pick-up location in an air-conditioned van.
8:45 AM – Visit the Aquarium
Enjoy a guided tour of the Aquarium and depending on schedule meet Phalis, one of our guides, who is a scuba diver at the center. See catfish, stringrays, and more!
10:30 AM – Depart the Aquarium
Depart the aquarium and continue our way to Kompong Khleang where you will be able to actually see the lake these amazing species inhabit.
11:00 AM – Stop for Sticky Rice at Poom Krolanh
We will pull over and taste fresh, Cambodian sticky rice. You will learn how its made and how to properly eat this popular treat.
11:20 AM – Visit a Local Bakery
Here we will visit a local bakery and try their specialty – palm sugar donuts. Depending on the day we will seem the prepare local delights using traditional equipment.
12:00 PM – Arrive in Kompong Khleang
Depending on the time of year, we will either board a community tourism boat or drive directly to Outaput Village in Kompong Khleang to visit Bridge of Life’s site, learn about life on the Tonle Sap, and explore the community.
12:45 PM – Depart for the Tonle Sap
Depart Kompong Khleang and head towards the Tonle Sap. The distance to and time spent to arrive depends on the time of the year.
1:15 PM – Visit Two Other Floating Villages
On the lake we will visit two other floating villages – Poom Yuon and Prolay Residents here are landless, live on houseboats, and move based on water levels.
1:30 PM – See the Tonle Sap Lake
The largest lake in Southeast Asia that sustains an entire region. Your guide will help explain its importance and answer any questions.
1:45 PM – Depart the Tonle Sap
Leave the lake and head back to Outaput Village to reboard the community tourism boat.
2:15 PM – Travel back to Siem Reap
After a long day board the van and head back to Siem Reap. We can stop for lunch at a restaurant on the way back (not included in price).
3:00 PM - Arrive in Siem Reap
